This mele was composed by this year's Honoree, Kimo Alama Keaulana for Mānoa, Honolulu, O'ahu.   This mele bespeaks the beauty of Mānoa and garnered an award for the composer in the 1973 City & County of Honolulu Dept. of Parks and Recreation Hawaiian Song Composition Contest. 
Kumu Hula Leialoha LIm Amina was granted special permission by the composer to share this mele hula. Kumu and the Honoree were classmates at Kamehameha Schools Class of 1973 and both share a special pilina about their hula journey.
